Horse Island

Horse Island is one of the Summer Isles, lying to the southeast of the group, which are located in the outer reaches of Loch Broom off the coast of Wester Ross. The island extends over an area of 53 ha (131 acres) and is separated from the mainland by the mile (1.5 km)-wide Horse Sound. Although believed to have been inhabited in the 19th century, it is now occupied only by a population of wild goats.
