Dunrod Hill

A notable summit in Central Inverclyde, Dunrod Hill rises to 298m (977 feet) a mile (1.5 km) southeast of the Spango Valley and 2 miles (3 km) east northeast of Inverkip. The Greenock Cut flow across the southwest slopes of the hill. An Avro Anson aircraft crashed on the northern slopes hill during a training flight in 1939. One of its engines was recovered and is displayed at the nearby Cornalees Visitor Centre.
