Moffat Dale

(Moffatdale)

The valley of the River Moffat, Moffat Dale (sometimes Moffatdale) strikes southwest from a pass on the boundary between Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders, to open into Annandale 1¼ miles (2 km) southeast of Moffat. It extends for 11 miles (18 km). Moffat Dale conveys the A708 road northeastwards, eventually arriving at Selkirk.
