Whinhill Railway Station

Whinhill Railway Station (Gael: Cnoc a’ Chonaisg) is located in Greenock in Inverclyde, a mile (1.5 km) southeast of the town centre and a quarter-mile (0.5 km) south southwest of Cartsdyke. Lying just to the west of the Cartsburn Tunnel, on the branch of the Inverclyde Line which terminates in Wemyss Bay, this station opened on 14th May 1990. Whinhill comprises a solitary platform serving a single-track line. It is preceded by Port Glasgow Railway Station, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) to the east, and followed by Drumfrochar, 1¼ miles (2 km) to the west northwest. Operated by ScotRail, Whinhill is unstaffed but is used by more than 50,000 passengers per annum (2015).
