Dalchork Forest

Dalchork Forest comprises a collection of forest plantations in Strath Tirry (Sutherland), which together represent one of the largest forests in Northern Scotland, with a combined area of 10,000 ha (24,710 acres). The forest occupies the eastern side of the valley, with its centre 6 miles (10 km) north of Lairg. It is accessible at several points from the A836 road. Wildlife includes golden eagles and black grouse, while all three of Scotland's principal deer species - Red, Roe and Sika - can be observed here.
