Littleton Reservoir

The smallest of a group of five reservoirs situated between Barrhead and Newton Mearns in East Renfrewshire, Littleton lies beneath the Waulkmill Glen Reservoir, 1¼ miles (2 km) northwest of Newton Mearns. It has an area of just 1.5 ha (3.8 acres) and is operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water. The railway line from Glasgow to East Ayrshire snakes its way between these reservoirs.
