Loch of Clumly

A small loch located in the parish of Sandwick on the Orkney Mainland, the Loch of Clumly lies between the Loch of Stenness and the Loch of Skaill, 5 miles (8 km) north of Stromness. The loch drains to the southeast via the Burn of Lyking into the Loch of Stenness. In 2001, concerned was expressed that nutrient runoff from agricultural activities had given rise to algal blooms on the loch, disrupting its natural eco-system.
