The westernmost of three lochs in the N of the island of Mull, together known as the Mishnish Lochs, which have become connected when their level was raised to form a reservoir, Loch Carnain an Amais is situated to the west of Loch Meadhoin, 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Tobermory.
