The Millbuie

The Millbuie is an area of upland which forms a spine running across the centre of the Black Isle in E Highland. Extending from Muir of Ord in the southwest for 19 miles (31 km) to Gallow Hill in the northeast, the feature reaches its greatest elevation at Mount Eagle (256m / 839 feet). Geologically it comprises Middle Old Red Sandstone measures, which were extensively quarried in the 19th century. Much of the area is covered by plantation forest.
