A summit which rises to 306m (1003 feet) on the boundary of the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, Windy Edge lies on the northern edge of the Tinnisburn Forest, 5 miles (8 km) east of Langholm. Windy Edge represents the northern limit of the so-called Debatable Lands of the Later Middle Ages.
