One of the Lowther Hills on the border of South Lanarkshire and Dumfries & Galloway, Earlside lies on the western edge of the Greskine Forest and rises to 449m (1473 feet), 1¼ miles (2 km) east of the Daer Reservoir and 6 miles (10 km) west northwest of Moffat.
