Loch Houram

A sea loch which forms an inlet within Loch Maddy on the northeast coast of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Loch Houram lies between Sruth Mor and Sponish, a half-mile (1 km) north of the settlement of Lochmaddy. The A865 road crosses a causeway over the narrow channel which separates Loch Houram from Loch an t-Sruith Mhoir in the west, while a suspension foot-bridge crosses another narrow channel that forms its eastern entrance to the sea. Loch Houram contains numerous small islets.
