St Andrew's Episcopal Church

A neat church on the western side of Abbey Court, St Andrew's Episcopal Church is located a quarter-mile (0.4 km) southwest of the centre of Kelso in the Scottish Borders. There has been a church on this site since c.1765, although the present building dates from 1869 and was the work of Sir Robert Rowand Anderson (1834 - 1921). The construction is of red coursed rock-faced rubble with contrasting buff dressings. The entrance porch is situated in the middle of the east side, with a modestly understated spire emerging from the northeast corner of the roof and incorporating a bellcote. There is a fine interior, with an exposed scissor-beam roof, and superb stained glass. In a small garden to the rear are memorials, some of which pre-date the church.
