Weddell Sound

A channel separating the islands of Burray and Glimps Holm in Orkney, the Weddell Sound served as an eastern entrance to Scapa Flow until it was closed by blockships in the 1920s and thereafter by the building of Churchill Barrier No.3, which now forms a causeway carrying the A961 road.

There is a Weddel Sound in the SW of Scapa Flow.
