A modest summit which represents the highest point on the island of Flotta in Orkney, West Hill rises to 58m (190 feet) a quarter-mile (0.5 km) south of the oil terminal and a half-mile (1 km) west of the island's school. The hill offers fine views across the island, Scapa Flow and the neighbouring islands of Fara, Hoy and South Ronaldsay.
