Langholm Race Course

Located at Castleholm in Langholm, to the north of the confluence of the River Esk and the Ewes Water, Langholm Race Course lies next to the remains of Langholm Castle, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) north of the town centre. This small course runs traditional flat horse races, known as 'flapping', which began in association with the Borders Common Ridings and fall outside Jockey Club rules. Around four race meetings are held during the summer season, run by the Langholm Horse Racing Association.
