Hillhead Halls of Residence

A self-contained student village located within a meander of the River Don in N Aberdeen, Hillhead Halls of Residence represent the principal student residences for the University of Aberdeen. Located a half-mile (1 km) north of the main university campus in Old Aberdeen and surrounded by mature woodland, Hillhead accommodates 2500 students in ten houses.

Fyfe, Wavell and Adam Smith are identical four storey blocks built around courtyards each providing catered accommodation to 164 students. Esslemont, Hector Boece, Burnett and Keith represent blocks of self-catering flats. North Court and South House are newer blocks, the latter for postgraduate students only, while New Carnegie Court opened in 2008 and is run by a commercial accommodation provider rather than the university itself.

The complex also includes a bar, shops and a laundry, together with sports facilities.
