A cattle market situated on rolling hills at Upper Soroba in Argyll & Bute, Oban Livestock Centre is located 1½ miles (2.5 km) south southeast of Oban town centre. Sales are normally held on a Tuesday and comprise mainly of store cattle and sheep. Operated by Caledonian Marts, owners of the Stirling Livestock Centre, who lease the facility that was developed by the local community in 1994 at a cost of £1 million. The development was a response to the closure of the former cattle market in the town centre by owners United Auctions in 1991, which was subsequently redeveloped as a supermarket. Initially operated by Argyll Auctions, the franchise passed to Caledonian Marts in 1996.
United Auctions maintain a lairage facility a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the south.
