Collafirth Hill

A boulder-strewn summit in the Northmavine district of the North Mainland of Shetland, Collafirth Hill rises to 233m (764 feet) a mile (1.5 km) west of North Collafirth. It shares the same sub-arctic flora and geomorphology as Ronas Hill, which lies 2 miles (3 km) to the west. There is a television transmitter and communications mast at the summit and there was a small NATO communications establishment here until the late 1980s.
