Morrich More

A low-lying area on the southern shore of the Dornoch Firth in Easter Ross, Morrich More lies 3 miles (5 km) east northeast of Tain. This represents a coastal strand comprising a sequence of sandy ridge deposited on an isostatically uplifting coastline, with its southern limit defined by the prominent slope of a post-glacial relict cliff line. Morrich More is recognised as being of international importance for the extent, quality and diversity of its landforms and the associated habitats and species. It is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Areas of Conservation (SAC). Morrich More lies within the bombing range of RAF Tain.
