Linn's Grave

(Linn's Tomb)

Linn's Grave (sometimes known as Linn's Tomb) is located on the northeastern slopes of Craigmoddie Fell in NW Dumfries and Galloway, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) west of Polbae. This is the last resting place of Alexander Linn, a local shepherd who was cut down by Lieutenant-General William Drummond and his troopers in 1685, having been accused of being a Covenanter. He was buried where he had died. A new grave stone was erected in 1827, with a wall placed around it containing the original headstone. This was rebuilt in 1911.

The Southern Upland Way passes a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the north.
