Loch Garasdale

A loch remotely located in the centre of the Kintyre Peninsula of Argyll & Bute, Loch Garasdale is situated 3 miles (5 km) south of Clachan and 5½ miles (9 km) northeast of Tayinloan. It is one of several lochs in this area which comprise the Kintyre Goose Lochs Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and also forms part of the Kintyre Goose Roost Special Protection Area (SPA) and a Ramsar site. It also supports a brown-trout fishery, together with a fish farm. Extending to a mile (1.4 km) in length and a half-mile (0.8) km wide, the loch is the source of the Ballochroy Burn.
