Loch of Yarrows


(Loch of Yarehouse)

The Loch of Yarrows is located in the Caithness district of Highland Council Area, a half-mile (1 km) northeast of the Hill of Yarrows and some 5 miles (8 km) southwest of the settlement of Wick. Retained by a small concrete and earth dam, the reservoir extends to an area of 43.7 ha (107 acres). It is operated by Scottish Water and supports a recreational fishery for brown trout.
