A rocky summit which represents the southernmost summit of Artfield Fell in the W of Dumfries and Galloway, Green Top rises to 245m (803 feet) 3¼ miles (6 km) east northeast of New Luce. An Ordnance Survey triangulation point is located a short distance to the southeast of the summit, while the Artfield Fell Wind Farm extends over its slopes.
