An elongated summit in the N of Galloway, Glenvernoch Fell comprises two summits; namely the Top of the Fell, which reaches 184m (603 feet) a mile (1.8 km) southwest of Glenvernoch, and Butter Cairn (164m / 538 feet) a half-mile (1 km) to the northeast. The Southern Upland Way cuts across its northwestern slopes.
