Moyle Hill (or The Moyle) is a summit rising to 150m (492 feet) surrounded by the Dalbeattie Forest ¾ mile (1.2 km) northeast of Barnbarroch in S Dumfries and Galloway. The summit is marked by a triangulation pillar, which is surrounded by an Iron-Age hill-fort. This extends to 283m (930 feet) by 152m (500 feet) and is surrounded by a ruined stone rampart, some 3m (10 feet) in width. Within this enclosure is another, described as a citadel, measuring 36.6m (120 feet) by 27.4m (90 feet).
