A summit which represents a foothill of the Lammermuirs at the eastern end of Lothian Edge in the east of East Lothian, Black Law rises to 263m (862 feet) 2½ miles (4 km) south southwest of the hamlet of Spott. The hill is erroneously recorded as 'Blaik Law' on the Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 Landranger map.
