A narrow reservoir situated in a steep depression on the north side of Romach Hill in Moray, Romach Loch (or Loch Romach Reservoir) is surrounded by the trees of Newtyle Forest, 3 miles (5 km) south of Forres. Retained by an earth embankment dam, it extends to an area of 15.4 ha (38 acres). It is operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water
