A loch in the parish of the Birsay in the northwest of the Orkney Mainland, the Loch of Boardhouse lies 3 miles (5 km) north northwest of Dounby. It extends to 2 miles / 3 km from NW to SE. Concern was expressed in 2001 that eutrophication, as a consequence of agricultural activity, was disrupting the natural eco-system of the loch.
