Cochno Loch

(Loch Cochno Reservoir)

The largest of a group of small reservoirs in the Kilpatrick Hills of West Dunbartonshire, Cochno Loch (or Loch Cochno Reservoir) is located next to Jaw Reservoir, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) northeast of Cochno Hill and 3 miles (5 km) north northwest of Clydebank. Retained by an earth embankment dam, it is operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water. Stocked with brown trout, a recreational fishery is managed by Hardgate & District Angling Association. A boy drowned while swimming in the reservoir in 2011.
