Loch Kildonan


(Loch Chill Donnain)

A low-lying loch in the machair of South Uist, Loch Kildonan (Gael: Loch Chill Donnain) is located at the mouth of Glen Kildonan, 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Lochboisdale. The loch, split in two by a causeway, is known as Upper Loch Kildonan (Gael: Loch Chill Donnain Uarach) to the north and Loch Kildonan to the south.
