Meall nan Oighreag

Meall nan Oighreag is a grassy summit in Breadalbane, which rises to 833m (2732 feet) on the border between Perth & Kinross and Stirling, 1¼ miles (2 km) north of Creag Uchdag and 2¼ miles (4 km) southeast of Ardeonaig on the southern shore of Loch Tay. There are disused lead mines close to its summit. Operating in the 19th C., the Corrie Buie mines extracted galena from a quartz vein in calcareous schist, which also includes small amounts of gold. The remains of adits, which were driven into the mountain, together with opencast workings and an areas of tailings, can still be seen.
