Rising on the southeastern slopes of the Hill of Strone (850m / 2789 feet) the Cramie Burn flows south through a steep sided valley in the Glenclova Forest for a distance of 2½ miles (4 km) to join the Prosen Water in Glen Prosen at the settlement of Cramie.
