Duich River

A watercourse of Central Islay in Argyll and Bute, the Duich River forms from the Torra River around the point where it changes its direction from north to west and is crossed by the B8016 road. It meanders west between Duich Lots and Duich Moss towards Duich farm. A quarter-mile (0.4 km) further west it suddenly changes course to the northwest, following an artificial channel along field boundaries straight to Drochaid Bheag and then meanders once again to join the River Laggan a quarter-mile (0.5 km) further to the northwest. Its original course is obvious, and still shown on Ordnance Survey maps, despite being dry. Its total length is 4 miles (6.5 km).
