River Annan at Annan

A river of Dumfries and Galloway, the River Annan rises in headstreams near Hartfell on the boundary with the Scottish Borders and within a short distance of the sources of the Tweed and the Clyde. It flows 49 miles (78 km) south through Annandale to join the Solway Firth near the town of Annan. Its main tributaries are the Birnock Water, Evan Water, Moffat Water, Whamphray Water, Kinnel Water, Dryfe Water and the Water of Milk.
