Ardilistry River

A small river in the SE of the island of Islay in Argyll and Bute, the Ardilistry River rises as a pair of headstreams which lie to the east and south of Beinn Sholum; the eastern stream having its source in Loch Uigeadail. These streams merge 1¼ miles (2 km) north of Ardbeg, and the river flows east for 2⅔ miles (4.3 km) to fall into Ardilistry Bay. The river supports a population of brown trout.
