Bagh na Doirlinne

(Bàgh na Dòirlinne, The Queen's Beach)

A bay to the northwest coast of Gigha, Bagh na Doirlinne lies between that island and the headland of Eilean Garbh. At the head of the bay is a sandy beach which forms the northern half of a tombolo. Known locally as the Queen's beach because this was where Queen Elizabeth II (1926 - 2022) landed on several occasions to visit the island while she was cruising the Scottish islands on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Fisherman's Cave lies to the northeast.
