A cove with a small pebble beach on the SE coast of the Rhinns of Islay, Port Ellister lies a mile (1.5 km) northeast of Rhinns Point and 1¼ miles (2 km) east of Portnahaven. It is barely 25m / 80 feet in width. Wester Ellister lies immediately to the northwest.
