The Cargen Pow represents the lower reaches of the Cargen Water, beyond Cargenbridge. It flows southeast for 2½ miles (4 km) to fall into the River Nith a half-mile (1 km) south of Kingholm Quay. It meanders over much of its course, but particularly beyond Islesteps.
