River Moidart

Rising to the west of Croite Beinn in the Moidart district of Highland Council Area, the River Moidart flows west through Glen Gluitanen and then Glen Moidart to empty into Loch Moidart at Kinlochmoidart, having completed a course of 7 miles (11 km). The river was designated as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) in 2005 to protect internationally-important freshwater pearl mussels (Margaritifera margaritifera).
