Black Water

(Clauchan Water)

The Black Water rises in central Arran, to the southeast of Beinn Bhreac. Known in its upper reaches as the Clauchan Water, the river emerges from the steep-sided Clauchan Glen just to the east of Shiskine. It then meanders through a small fertile flood-plain towards Blackwaterfoot, where it empties into Drumadoon Bay.
