Rising as headstreams in the foothills of the Cheviot Hills, the Oxnam Water flows west to pass through Oxnam and then north to Crailinghall and then Crailing. It joins the River Teviot 4 miles (6 km) northeast of Jedburgh, having completed a course of 8 miles (13 km).
