Bhlaraidh Reservoir

(BhlĂ raidh Reservoir)

A small reservoir on the course of the Allt Bhlaraidh in the Levishie Forest which forms part of the Garry-Moriston Hydro-Electric Power Scheme, the Bhlaraidh Reservoir is retained by a concrete gravity dam. It opened in 1961 and is operated by Scottish & Southern Energy Plc. A valve house at the base of the dam routes water via a pipe and tunnel to Livishie Power Station, located 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the south.
