Glen Muick

A glen in the Braemar district of Aberdeenshire, Glen Muick occupies the valley of the River Muick which rises in the mountains to the west of Loch Muick and flows northeastwards to join the River Dee opposite Ballater. Buildings of note in the glen include the mid-19th-century Mill of Sterin, the House of Glenmuick (formerly Braickley House), built in 1898 for Sir Alan Mackenzie and Birkhall, built by Charles Gordon of Abergeldie in 1715 and later purchased by Prince Albert.
