Dean Burn

Dean Burn is tributary of the Water of Leith, which rises as headstreams which form on the north slope of East Cairn Hill on the northwest face of the Pentland Hills. It flows north for 1½ miles (2.5 km) to meet the Water of Leith a half-mile (1 km) northeast of Harperrig Reservoir. The stream forms the boundary between West Lothian and the City of Edinburgh Council Areas for the entirety of its length. This should not be confused with another Dean Burn located 7 miles (11 km) to the northeast at Bonaly.
