Laggan Bay

Situated to the southeast of the entrance to Loch Indaal on the south coast of the island of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Laggan Bay stretches for 5 miles (8 km) from Laggan Point in the north to the headland of Rubha Mor on the Oa peninsula in the south. Behind its sandy beach (the Big Strand) are sand dunes and a flat strip of land which includes the island's airport at Glenegedale. Several rivers enter the bay; namely the River Laggan, Uisge na Criche, the Machrie River and the Kintra River.
