Teilem Bay

(Bàgh Teileam)

An arm of Loch Mhic Phail in the NE of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, the shallow Teilem Bay (Gael: Bàgh Teileam) is situated 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Lochportain and is littered with islets and rocks, the largest of which are Cafuam, Eilean Fhionnlaidh, Hestam and Mealla Bru. It is separated from Loch Yeor, the innermost section of Loch Maddy, by a narrow isthmus known as Vad (A Bhàd).
