Wigtown Bay

An inlet of the Solway Firth, Dumfries and Galloway, Wigtown Bay lies at the mouths of the River Cree, River Bladnoch and Water of Fleet. Its chief headlands are the Cairn Head and Meikle Ross. The bay gave its name to the Royal Navy frigate HMS Wigtown Bay which was launched in 1945.
