Orchardton Bay

An shallow inlet on the Solway Firth coast of Dumfries and Galloway, Orchardton Bay lies to the northeast of Auchencairn. It is separated by headlands from Auchencairn Bay and Rough Firth and receives the Orchardton Burn and Potterland Lane, which combine to form the Orchardton Lane which crosses the mud which fills the bay when revealed by the receding tide. Another Orchardton Bay is located 24 miles (38 km) to the west, within Wigtown Bay.
