Skipness Castle

Located 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Tarbert in Argyll and Bute, the ruined remains of Skipness Castle sit near the village of Skipness. Built in the 13th Century, it has a 14th century chapel and a 16th century tower house within its grounds, although by the 17th century it had become abandoned. Its history also includes a siege by the MacDonalds during the Colkitto raids.
